Jeremy May of Little Fly produces jewellery created entirely from recycled paper. Using a unique process of lamination each piece is carefully removed from the book, given a slick gloss finish, and the remaining paper is reused as a box where the finished jewellery is reinserted to the excavated space. Special commissions can even be created from your favourite book. As a carrier of text, illustration, history and emotion, I think that we can expect to see Jeremy's work become heirlooms of the future.
There are some great pieces on the Lost Values web site - I am loving the cute 'Pin in a Book' badge that leaves behind a temporary embossed heart when removed. The book is decorated with Liberty Fabric, available to buy online at £25.00.
Featured on the BBC's High Street Dreams, designer Claire English presented her eclectic hand made jewellery collection to Selfridges. Awaken the child within, because you can now buy Claire's fab silver bubble blowing necklace and brooch online, both come complete with bubble liquid!
